Philip Martin-Nielson

Philip Martin-Nielson started his training from the age of 6. When Philip was 11 years old, he began training with Natasha Bar and under her guidance won numerous awards.  These include a scholarship from the Youth Dance Festival of New Jersey in 2008 and the Gold Medal at the Youth American Grand Prix in 2009. Philip has attended numerous summer programs such as SAB, Harid Conservatory, Bolshoi Ballet Academy, Manhattan Youth Ballet, and Chautauqua School of Dance.  At 15 Philip continued his ballet training at the School of American Ballet where Philip trained until graduation. Philip has been a teacher, chorographer, and costume designer for the American Youth Ballet (formally known as the American Youth Dance Academy since its grand opening in November of 2009).  Philip has performed Principal roles in ballets such as: Swan Lake, Fire Bird, Sleeping Beauty, Giselle, Copellia, Flower Festival of Genzano, Cinderella, Le Corsaire, Le Bayadere, Nutcracker, Thumbelina, Grand Pas Classique, Donizetti Variations staged by Patricia McBride and Voices of Spring from Vienna Waltzes staged by Patricia McBride. In 2012 Philip joined a company as a professional dancer.
